Scottish Stereotype:

 

  • Strong Glasgow Accent
  • Scotland as a place can be represented in two different ways. Scotland can be represented as a very rough place or it could be represented as a very cold and dull place.
  • Scottish Slang Includes 'wee' (meaning little) and ('Aye' Meaning Yes) these are the two most commonly known slang which Scottish people use.
  • Scottish people are usually associated with kilts and that they wear Flat Caps and have ginger hair.
  • Scottish people stereotypical pass times usually include playing the bagpipes and drinking a lot of Beer/Larger
  • Scots are usually represented as quite agitated unstable people and they seen to be quite angry people.
  • Scottish people are usually seen as mostly protestant.
  • Scottish people are usually associated with the 'Old Firm' Football derby between Rangers and Celtic, this derby has been given negative response in recent due to great violence between the two teams fans, this enforces the violent stereotype of the Scottish people.


Liverpool Stereotype (Scouse):

 

 

  • Thieves
  • Talk rally fast and they are hard to understand
  • Very strong accent
  • Support Liverpool Football Club
  • Have a left wing political view

  • Irish Stereotype:

 

  • Irish people are usually seemed to be quite violent
  • They are seen as they like to drink a lot
  • associated with the colour green .

High pitched, Strong

Rough estates, Large cities, Tyne bridge.

Newcastle United Tops, Tight clothing

Gym, Newcastle United, Fake Tanning

 


London

Chavvy in areas and upper class in others (Queens English).

Built up cities, skyscrapers.

 'Brown bread' - Dead, 'Apples and pears' - Stairs.

Upper class - Suits, Chavvy areas - Tracksuits.

Work at markets and Stalls, Visits to the Pub, Shopping.

Looking down on homeless people and hating the upper class

Strong accent.

Large city, Built up area, Cars.
